Improving the Quality of Education Through Teacher Resource Management: the Strategic Role of School Principals

Abstract

It is known that to improve the quality of education, educational institutions are needed that do not separate between science and knowledge. Educational institutions that understand that every human being, as God's creation, has their own uniqueness, just like schools. Therefore, this study attempts to identify the stages of school management that are developing starting from planning to improve the quality of education, managing teacher resources, to supervising the implementation of the quality of education at SMP PGRI 1, Mojokerto City. This study uses a qualitative approach, with the research location at SMP PGRI 1, Mojokerto City as the object of research. The informants in this study consisted of the management coordinator, school coordinator, and teachers. Data collection techniques used include in-depth interviews, observations of educational activities, and documentation. To ensure the validity of the data, source triangulation and data triangulation techniques were used. This study found several things, including: the history of SMP PGRI 1 Mojokerto City, synchronization between general education and extracurricular education to support the creation of comprehensive education, starting from the implementation of integrated education quality which includes planning of superior programs and facilities for in-depth practice, implementation of integrated quality in preparing human resources, and integrated supervision of teacher resources as a benchmark for student achievement who have diverse motivations. These findings can also be the basis for development policies for future planning.
